Wooden Cross at Zvěřinec [ Cross ]
The wooden cross at Zvěřinec used to stand at the pavement near a bend of a garden in front of the J. Jasný´s house No. 335. On the cross, there was a picture of Christ painted on sheet metal. Over the Christ´s shoulders and the cross top, an arch of sheet metal was nailed to cover the cross and the painting. There was a chronogram 1873 on the cross. The cross bottom got rotten and, therefore, the cross broke at the ground during a windstorm in 1947. A new cross was built on the opposite side of the street, in front of the garden at the Jaromír Srkala´s house No. 47, between two birch trees. The new cross does not include the painting of Christ.
